The Santa Cruz Triathlon

The Santa Cruz Triathlon will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021.
This year has been filled with challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic’s impacts nationwide. As the area’s only nonprofit triathlon, we exist to provide a fun, safe and memorable community experience for our racers and volunteers and to raise funds for local school athletic programs.
In the event that Covid-19 State, City and County guidelines change, participation may become limited in capacity and will be first come first serve based on order of registration. Race is subject to cancellation or new date pending Covid-19 guidelines changing to be in accordance with the State, County and City health guidelines, at the time of the race. In the event that the Covid-19 guidelines change racers will be notified.
While transmission rates locally look positive and the County remains a leader in per capita vaccinations within the state, coronavirus cases are increasing globally and the B.1.1.7 variant has recently been found within Santa Cruz County. Vaccinated and unvaccinated residents are advised to continue wearing masks and practicing social distancing while in public. For local information on COVID-19, go to call 211 or text “COVID19” to 211211. Residents may also call (831) 454-4242 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday
We will continue to monitor and stay updated on the latest health guidelines.

Formerly named the Santa Cruz Sentinel Triathlon, the Santa Cruz Triathlon is a non-profit event. Each year the race donates $30,000 to $50,000 to the Santa Cruz community! 2018 showed the biggest profits yet, donating $70,000 back into our community! Proceeds from the event are donated to the Santa Cruz County High School athletic programs, the UC Santa Cruz Swim Program, Cabrillo College Athletics, Santa Cruz Track Club, and the Santa Cruz Triathlon Association. These organizations receive donations from the race and provide volunteers on the course. Everyone’s participation is greatly appreciated!
