The Santa Cruz Triathlon
The Santa Cruz Triathlon on site event will be held Sunday, September 26, 2021.
This year has been filled with challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic’s impacts nationwide. As the area’s only nonprofit triathlon, we exist to provide a fun, safe and memorable community experience for our racers and volunteers and to raise funds for local school athletic programs.
Unfortunately we have come to the heartbreaking conclusion that it will be infeasible to conduct the race this year and have decided to cancel the 38th Santa Cruz Triathlon scheduled for Sunday, September 27, 2020.
We have made this tough decision in recognition that public safety and health is our highest priority and based on our understanding of the foreseeable State and local timelines and conditions for conducting mass participation events.
We look forward to seeing you in 2021! Racers currently registered for this year will be automatically rolled over to next year. Refunds are also available by contacting me directly.
**IMPORTANT ** Please be sure to check your race times before submitting. Official times will be reviewed for errors. Remember you are adding hours by 60 minutes so the times will need to be weighted accordingly.
Formerly named the Santa Cruz Sentinel Triathlon, the Santa Cruz Triathlon is a non-profit event. Each year the race donates $30,000 to $50,000 to the Santa Cruz community! 2018 showed the biggest profits yet, donating $70,000 back into our community! Proceeds from the event are donated to the Santa Cruz County High School athletic programs, the UC Santa Cruz Swim Program, Cabrillo College Athletics, Santa Cruz Track Club, and the Santa Cruz Triathlon Association. These organizations receive donations from the race and provide volunteers on the course. Everyone’s participation is greatly appreciated!
