The Santa Cruz Triathlon, originally called the Tin Man Triathlon and then the Sentinel Triathlon, was founded in 1982, eight years after the first triathlon raced in San Diego. Our first annual race, held on October 16, 1983, started a tradition that brings triathletes together from near and far.
2016 was our best year on record. The Santa Cruz Triathlon donated $64,000 to local high school and college sports programs. Thank you!
The 2015 Santa Cruz Triathlon donated $38,200 to high school and college athletic programs in Santa Cruz County. Thank you for your support!
